Goldengen
Geneviève Dumas is the creative behind Goldegen - a Montreal-based printmaker specializing in collage and screen printing. With a focus on allowing the viewer to question various aspects of the composition, including how we deal with ourselves, love and experiencing the moment, Goldengen’s work embeds an element of wonder. Dumas’ work evokes a nostalgia of softness and femininity that we do not often see in contemporary art. While creating a new visual experience for the viewer, it subtly nudges at familiar internal questions of love, self-love and memory. Her work investigates dynamic representations resulting from the combination of fragmented materials that provoke disjointed feelings. It is about the layering and building of momentum and stories through collage and silk screen. The final result is the thoughtful construction of the visual narrative.
